It ain’t all that serious. It’s just the end of the world. Scientists manning the most powerful electron telescope in the world and the most powerful computer in the world, the LCC (liquid crystal computer) which they nickname “Elsie”, discover a gigantic void in space heading directly toward Earth. Elsie, a bit of an idiot savant, responds technically and literally to all questions to the frustration of the scientists. Amidst the frantic comedy is a look at how humanity as a whole and how individuals may come to deal with the end of the world.
